Infertility Treatment: Finding the Cause Before the Cure
3 September 2026 · 7 min read

When to seek help
For most couples, it is reasonable to seek advice after one year of trying without success. If the woman is over 35, or there are known issues like irregular periods, PCOS, previous surgery or a history of miscarriage, it is sensible to come after six months — or straight away.
Seeking help early is not giving up; it is simply starting the search for a cause while more options are still open.
It takes two — testing both partners
Fertility is a shared matter. In a large share of couples the contributing factor is on the male side, or on both sides, so a proper assessment looks at both partners from the start. Testing only one partner wastes time and money.
For the woman, this usually means checking ovulation, hormone levels, the thyroid, and the health of the tubes and uterus. For the man, a semen analysis is the first, simplest and most informative test.
Common, treatable causes
Many causes of infertility respond well to straightforward treatment once identified.
- Ovulation problems such as PCOS — often the most treatable of all.
- Blocked or damaged fallopian tubes.
- Hormonal or thyroid imbalances.
- Low sperm count or motility.
- Age-related decline in egg quality.
A step-by-step approach
Treatment starts with the simplest option that fits the cause and moves up only if needed. That might mean lifestyle changes and timing advice, then medication to help ovulation, and further options if those do not succeed.
The aim is to avoid both extremes: neither rushing into expensive procedures nor delaying when time matters. Every step is explained so you can decide with confidence.
The emotional side matters too
Infertility is stressful, and stress is not a moral failing — it is part of the picture. Care at Care and Cure Clinic is unhurried and private, with time to ask questions and no judgement. Bring any previous reports so nothing is repeated unnecessarily.
